Establishment – Cadet College Palandri

Cadet College Palandri is a premier educational institution located in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, established in response to the genuine demand of the people of AJ&K. In 1973, the Government of Pakistan announced the establishment of Cadet College Palandri, along with similar colleges at Larkana (Sindh) and Mastung (Balochistan), to provide quality education to the youth of Pakistan.

In 1976, the Federal Government of Pakistan allocated a sum of Rs. 1.525 million for the initial survey, designing, and soil testing of the project. The Board of Governors of the college decided to commission the college on 9 July 1998, with effect from 15 September 1998. In just eight weeks, all the necessary preparations, including the procurement of equipment and furniture, the selection of cadets, teaching staff, and administrative staff, were completed. The college was inaugurated on 15 September 1998 by the then Prime Minister of the Azad Government of the State of J&K, marking the beginning of its academic session.
