On 1st March 1990, the foundation stone for the college was laid by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto. The Pakistan Army generously donated 85 acres of land for the establishment of the college. After three years of preparation, the college finally commenced its academics with five classes ranging from 6th to 10th grade on 29th April 1993. It was initially established as Kohat Garrison College and was formally inaugurated by Lt Gen Muhammad Arif Bangash, who was then the Quarter Master General of the Pakistan Army, on 10th May 1993.
