THE GOVERNMENT OF KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA IS LOOKING FOR THE POSITION OF VICE CHANCELLORS PUBLIC SECTOR UNIVERSITIES, KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA.
The Higher Education Archives & Libraries Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is searching for individuals of exceptional integrity and intellectual vision for the position of Vice-Chancellors, University of Agriculture, Peshawar, University of Malakand, University of Swat, University of Haripur, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Sheringal, Dir Upper, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar, Khyber Medical University, Peshawar possessing the qualification and experience mentioned below:
Essential Qualification & Experience:
a. For general University, PhD in any discipline with good academic record. In the case of discipline of Law, the relevant terminal qualification would be LLM(Law) or JD.
b. For an Agriculture university, PhD in a field of Agriculture.
c. In case of a Medical/Health University, the relevant terminal qualification would be FCPS or equivalent in case of Clinical Sciences and Ph.D in case of Basic Medical Sciences.
d. Experience of at least 15 years teaching/research in HEC recognized university or post graduate institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization.
e. Thirty (30) research papers in Commission's recognized Journals with at least ten (10) as Principal author.
f. At least five (05) years of administrative experience in the field of Higher Education.
g. Execution of at least one major research project worth at least Rupees one million as Principal Investigator.
h. Experience of working with international bodies or international exposure through participation in workshops, seminars or conferences held outside the country.
i. Experience of organizing events such as workshops, seminars, conference at an international level within the country in the field of higher education.
j. Demonstrated experience in leadership.
Desirable experience, Expected skills and Competencies:
The Academic Search Committee may consider the desirable experience, expected skills and competencies as provided in Part B & C of Schedule-II of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universities Act, 2012.
Application:
a. Eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application form available on.
b. For Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar only female candidates will be considered.
c. The maximum age of candidate on the last date for submission of application shall not exceed 62 years.
Procedure:
a. Scrutiny Committee will scrutinize the applications. In case of ineligibility, the grounds shall be communicated in writing to the applicant.
b. An applicant may submit an appeal against the decision of the Scrutiny Committee to the Secretary of the Academic Search Committee within a period of seven (07) days, after communication of the said decision. The Secretary of the Academic Search Committee shall decide the appeal in fourteen (14) days.
c. Decision of the Secretary of the Academic Search Committee in all such cases shall be final.
d. The Academic Search Committee shall shortlist the eligible candidates on the basis of criteria devised by the Academic Search Committee.
e. The Academic Search Committee shall have the mandate to search and head-hunt persons eligible under the criteria for the position of vice chancellor.
f. The Academic Search Committee after interviewing the shortlisted candidates shall recommend panel three candidates in alphabetic order without any preference to the Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
g. The maximum age of candidate on the last date for submission of application shall not exceed 62 years.
Closing Date for Receipt of Applications:
a. The application, complete in all respects and supported with all documents, must reach to the office of the Deputy Secretary (Universities-III), Higher Education, Archives & Libraries Department, Civil Secretariat, Peshawar on or before 06.01.2026 closing of the office hours.
b. Incomplete applications/applications received after closing date will not be entertained.
Note:
The required qualification and experience shall change with the expected amendments in the relevant Act.
