Requisite Qualifications and Description:

• Candidates must hold a medical degree and currently occupy a valid medical faculty position in the relevant specialty at the level of Assistant Professor or above and must be a registered CPSP supervisor.
• Candidates will be assessed on the basis of scholarly activity publications, quality teaching experience, leadership qualities, management skills, and professional integrity.
• The Department Chairperson is an honorary position and provides an opportunity for obtaining a leadership profile and administrative experience.
• Institutional Based practice for Clinical Department Persons will be mandatory and no outside clinical practice will be allowed.

Main Responsibilities:

• The incumbents will be responsible for the administration of scholarly and research activities, fulfill the role of a member of the academic council, developing research and teaching activities, and also engage in patient care in the relevant specialty department.

Terms & Conditions:

1. If the candidate is selected from outside the MTI Mardan, they will be offered a salary package corresponding with the appropriate faculty position.
2. The position will be tenure-based initially for three years and extendable for two more terms at the discretion of the competent authority.
3. The service of the incumbents will be governed under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Teaching Institution Act, 2015 (as amended) and the MTI Regulations.
4. In-service employees shall apply through the proper channel.
5. Upon appointment, candidates will have to submit an accepted resignation from their existing employment with any other entity, local or abroad, including, but not limited to, civil service of the Government. (This clause only applies to outside candidates in case of their selection.)
6. The competent authority has the right to increase/decrease or cancel any or one of the positions.
