VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) is a state-owned enterprise responsible for the exploration, mining, and marketing of various minerals. Operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division, Government of Pakistan.
PMDC invites applications for the following post on open contract basis.
Position: Manager (Legal and Contracts)
Qualification: L.L.B from an HEC-recognized institution. Candidates possessing a valid license to practice law in Pakistan will be preferred.
Experience: Relevant 10 years of post-qualification experience in handling Legal and Corporate Affairs, Contract Drafting & Vetting, Legal Documentation and Litigation. Experience in public sector organizations or large-scale industrial entities will be preferred.
Age: Up to 50 years
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure the PMDC operates within legal frameworks relevant to mining operations, including environmental regulations, labor laws, PPRA and safety standards.
- Formulate and implement PMDC policies regarding legal compliance and corporate governance.
- Identify legal risks associated with PMDC operations and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Manage all aspects of Commercial, Civil, and Criminal litigation involving PMDC.
- Engage and collaborate with external legal counsel on litigation strategies and proceedings.
- Develop and recommend strategies for court proceedings, including settlement negotiations.
- Oversee legal matters related to labor disputes, including negotiations and arbitration.
- Provide legal advice on Corporate and Commercial matters to various departments within the PMDC.
- Provide support in preparation and review of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and tender documents, ensuring all legal aspects are addressed.
- Draft, review, and vet contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with legal and corporate requirements.
