Position
How to Apply?
- The Vice Chancellor will be appointed by the Chief Minister based on the Search Committee's recommendations, as per the Search Committee Act, 2022. The term is four years, extendable by another four years.
- Candidates must possess the following qualifications, experience, and age:
- An eminent academician qualified as a full Professor with a Ph.D. from an HEC-recognized University/Institute in a relevant field, with at least 20 years of experience, including 10 years in administrative, financial, or academic roles as Vice Chancellor, Rector, President, etc., or in a BPS-17 or equivalent position in a public or reputable private organization.
- A cadre officer of BPS-21 or above with a Master's Degree from an HEC-recognized University or Institute.
- Candidates with a Master's degree, preferably a Ph.D., in a relevant field and 15 years of experience in academia, civil society, research, or management leadership, with a distinguished research and publication record (minimum 10 publications in HEC-recognized journals).
- The candidate should not be more than 62 years old by the application deadline.
- Cadre officers selected as Vice Chancellor must resign or retire from their civil service post.
- Responsibilities of Vice-Chancellor:
- Promote quality education.
- Promote research and development projects.
- Establish national/international linkages with industries and institutions.
- Plan a sustainable business model.
- Gather and analyze data from various industrial sectors for policy-making research.
- Job Skills: Analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written, spoken, and presentation skills.
- Strong ability to collect, differentiate, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
- Understanding of financial matters and budget mechanisms.
- General Conditions: No TA/DA will be provided for interviews.
