SITUATIONS VACANT
Ministry of National Food security & Research is looking for dynamic and eminent Agriculture Scientist for appointment as Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) on contract basis in MP-I Scale.
This position demands Management skills in developing and articulating a vision to strengthen the organization and to promote international alliances for developing excellence and distinction in Agricultural Research with an extensive track record in Senior management and leadership positions. Pay Package |
The Chairman, PARC shall be appointed by the President of Pakistan under the PARC Ordinance, 1981. The appointment will be on a contract/tenure basis. Terms and conditions (including pay package) will be broadly aligned with applicable government benchmarks (MP Scale/analogous statutory positions) and shall be finalized subject to approval/determination by the competent authority (President of Pakistan) |

Qualification & Experience |
1. An eminent scientist connected with agricultural research and demonstrated leadership in strategic planning, implementation and management of multi-disciplinary agricultural research programs having Ph.D. in Agriculture related Sciences from HEC recognized university.<br>2. At least 25 years proven experience in R&D organizations / recognized institutions of research / higher learning public / private sector including experience in managing a multi-disciplinary group of scientists and researchers. |

Research Publications |
Minimum 17 research publications in HEC recognized refereed journals/books. |

Others |
1. Demonstrated abilities to mobilize, and utilize financial & human resources effectively.<br>2. Having strong communication, negotiation and inter-personal skills. |

Minimum 45 years and Maximum 62 years (to be calculated as on the closing date of submission of applications) |

Period of Contract / Tenure |
Initially for a period of three (03) years further extendable for a maximum period of two (02) years on annual (yearly) basis subject to satisfactory performance. |

Job Description |
1. The Chairman shall be the chief executive of the Council.<br>2. The Chairman shall have such powers and perform such functions as are assigned to him under section-9 of PARC Ordinance, 1981.<br>3. The Chairman may, from time to time, for the purpose of ensuring efficient functioning of the Council and facilitating its day-to-day functions, delegate to members, officers and employees of the Council such of his functions, powers or duties as may be considered necessary by him. |
