- On June 29, 1973, an Act of Parliament established Port Qasim. It is situated in the Indus delta region near Karachi’s Phitti Creek. The port began operations in 1980 with a specialized Iron Ore Coal Berth for bulk handling raw material imports for the Pakistan Steel Mill.
- The port now has 18 berths (15 of which are private) with an annual handling capacity of 89 million tonnes. Mineral oils, edible oil, coal, rice, wheat, cement, fertilizers, general cargo, containers, and LNG are all handled in the port in cutting-edge facilities. It is Pakistan’s energy center and sole LNG port.
- The Port Qasim Authority is looking to hire applications from highly qualified, dynamic, self-motivated, committed, and experienced professionals to join its team on a contract basis for two years.
