Career Opportunities

Power Planning & Monitoring Company (PPMC) is mandated to provide policy and technical support to the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), integrated planning of the Power Sector of Pakistan, development and implementation of strategic plans for the power sector, and to administer, monitor and evaluate performance of Power Sector Entities under the approved policies/plans.

The Company is seeking applications for the following positions from eligible persons who can perform the tasks assigned to the Company. The first 3 months shall be on probation and thereafter shall be continued as per company policy.

Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, outstanding problem-solving skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment based on accurate and timely analysis. Outstanding communication, minute writing, analytical & problem-solving skills are pre-requisite. Ideal candidates should have the ability to prioritize work well under pressure. The candidate must be IT Savvy. Integrity and maturity should be an essential attribute when handling confidential company information.


(i) Team Lead (Monitoring & Reporting)

The team lead will report to the Chief (M&R) and shall be primarily responsible for:

  • Monitoring of Distribution Companies (DISCOs) against approved Strategic Roadmap targets and reform milestones.
  • Contribute to the development and periodic updating of DISCOs' strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with national energy sector policies, plans, reform agendas, and performance objectives.
  • Analyze operational, financial, and commercial performance indicators including losses, recovery ratios, receivables, service standards, electricity theft control, and assessment of associated financial impacts.
  • Monitoring of execution of investment plans, loss reduction programs, and efficiency improvement initiatives of DISCOs.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards, KPIs, and progress tracking frameworks.
  • Identify performance gaps and recommend corrective measures aligned with national power sector plans/objectives.
  • Coordinate with DISCOs and other sector stakeholders for timely data submission and validation for the development of KPI-based dashboards for DISCO performance monitoring for decision-making.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly and periodic analytical reports covering key performance indicators (KPIs) of DISCOs, highlighting trends and improvement areas and prepare performance summaries to support informed executive-level decision-making.
  • Liaise and coordinate with regulatory bodies, policy makers, and relevant stakeholders to ensure data consistency, regulatory compliance, and effective support for sectoral reforms.
  • Provide periodic analytical inputs, briefing notes, and summary reports for senior management, coordination of Parliamentary affairs, and high-level decision-makers.
  • Prepare analytical reports, performance scorecards, and strategic review presentations for senior management and Board Committees.
  • Any other task assigned from time to time.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (SKA):

  • CA / ACMA / ACCA / CIMA / CFA or member of a professional body of Accountants, or Master's degree in Finance/Commerce or related fields (at least 16 years) from HEC recognized / affiliated institute / university or Bachelors / Masters Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering.
  • The candidate shall have a minimum of 07 years of Post Qualification experience in a reputable national / multinational organization with at least 5 years of experience in monitoring, performance evaluation, and/or regulatory compliance of Distribution Companies (DISCOs).
  • Applicants with a strong understanding of the Distribution framework governing the power sector.
  • Hands-on experience in loss analysis, recovery performance assessment, and investment plan monitoring.
  • Strong ability to independently analyze complex operational and financial performance data and develop evidence-based insights.
  • Demonstrated capacity to design, interpret, and apply performance indicators, benchmarks, and analytical frameworks.
  • Ability to contribute to strategic planning, performance improvement initiatives, and reform-oriented programs aligned with national policies.
  • Experience in preparing and overseeing high-quality analytical reports, dashboards, and performance summaries for decision-making.
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring systems, data visualization tools, and ensuring data consistency and integrity.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills, with the ability to support structured review processes.

Remuneration & age:

  • The selected candidate will be offered a market-based, competitive remuneration package, commensurate with their skills and experience as per company policy.

(ii) Specialist (Monitoring & Reporting)

The specialist will report to the Team lead (M&R) and shall be primarily responsible for:

  • Assist in contribution to the development of DISCOs' strategic roadmap, aligning with national energy sector goals.
  • Monitoring of Distribution Companies against approved Strategic Roadmap targets and reform milestones through structured dashboard-based data analysis.
  • Assist in generating monthly analytical reports on circular debt, identifying trends and financial risks in the power value chain.
  • Assist in preparation of detailed reports on electricity theft, losses, and receivables, providing insights for recovery and control.
  • Assist in setting and monitoring loss reduction targets for DISCOs, tracking performance and recommending corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing and updating a Power Dashboard, summarizing key sector KPIs for executive decision-making.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve performance dashboards and automated reporting systems.
  • Conduct trend analysis and identify performance gaps against approved targets and strategic roadmap benchmarks.
  • Track compliance of DISCOs with regulatory and policy directives issued by relevant authorities including National Electric Power Regulatory Authority.
  • Support senior management in decision-making through quantitative insights and structured reporting.
  • Any other task assigned from time to time.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (SKA):

  • CA / ACMA / ACCA / CIMA / CFA or member of a professional body of Accountants, or Master's degree in Finance/Commerce or related fields (at least 16 years) from HEC recognized / affiliated institute / university or Bachelors / Masters Degree in Electrical / Data Analytics / Data Sciences / Business Analytics.
  • The candidate shall have a minimum of 05 years of Post Qualification experience. Preference shall be given to candidates having experience in monitoring and performance evaluation of utilities.
  • Hands-on experience in dashboard reporting, KPI tracking, and data-driven performance evaluation.
  • Demonstrated exposure to loss analysis, recovery performance, and assessment of other operational efficiency benchmarks.
  • Candidates having experience in Dashboard development (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent tool), Data validation, reconciliation, and analytical reporting will be preferred.
  • Experience of handling large operational datasets.
  • Strong analytical writing and presentation skills.
