a) MBBS or equivalent medical qualification from an institute or a university recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission and FCPS or MS or FRCS or MRCP or MD or Diplomat of American Board in the respective specialty or equivalent medical qualification in the respective specialty from an institute or university recognized by the PMC/PMDC. If none is available with above qualifications then MBBS or equivalent medical qualification from an institute or university recognized by the PMC/PMDC and FCPS or MS or FRCS or MRCP or MD or Diplomat of American Board (General Surgery or Medicine, whichever is relevant to the respective specialty) or equivalent medical qualification from an institute or university recognized by the PMC/PMDC with three years post-graduation practical experience in the respective specialty from a recognized institute. b) Five (05) years teaching experience as Assistant Professor in the speciality in a recognized institution with 3 research papers published in a standard Medical Journal while working as Assistant Professor.

Review articles, case-studies/reports, translations, briefs, papers presented in conferences, editorials, etc. shall not be admissible as published research papers. However, online published research work in a recognized foreign journal shall be accepted. The journal(s) should be duly indexed by PMC/PMDC/Pubmed/Index Medicus/Excerpta Medica Embase Recognition list of such journal(s) by PMC/PMDC shall also be required.

One Paper MCQs Type General Ability Written Test of 100 marks and 90 minutes duration comprising questions relating to General Knowledge, Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Islamic Studies (General Knowledge for Non-Muslim Candidates), Geography, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Every-day Science & Basic Computer studies.

The Scheduled of Written Test(s), if any, shall be issued only on the website of PPSC. Therefore, candidates must visit the PPSC website frequently for test schedules.

In case a candidate claims that his/her qualification is equivalent to the prescribed qualification, he/she will be required to submit equivalency certificate of his/her foreign/local qualification issued by the Competent Authority of HEC / PEC / PM&DC/PMC/PNC/PVM&C/Central Council of Homoeopathic or other relevant regulatory body on or before the closing date, at the time of interview or whenever asked by the Commission. If a candidate fails to submit Equivalency Certificate issued by the Competent Authority at the time of interview, his/her candidature will be cancelled and no further consideration will be given.

In case, a candidate claims experience of private firm / entity, he / she must bring proof at the time of interview that the firm / entity is registered with SECP, Registrar of Firms or any other Regulatory Authority, failing which his / her application will be rejected. Candidates must provide proof of registration showing that the concerned private entity had the status of an organization/firm/company on or before the closing date of advertisement.

In-service candidates will ensure while applying for particular post(s) that they have obtained required NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC) from their concerned department(s) and will provide the same at the time of interview (if called).
