- This leadership position demands an individual with a profound Engineering background, a wealth of experience in the oil refineries, and exceptional leadership acumen with the ability to manage a wide range of technical and operational responsibilities to ensure the refinery's success and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Oversight: Provide leadership and technical expertise to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective refinery operations. Process Optimization: Continuously improve refinery processes to maximize production efficiency, minimize environmental impact and reduce operational costs.
- Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations and standards. Implement and oversee safety programs and initiatives to promote a culture of safety.
- Maintenance and Reliability: Develop and execute maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and availability. Minimize downtime through proactive maintenance practices.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the technical department's budget, including capital expenditures and operational expenses. Monitor and control costs to meet financial targets.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a team of engineers, technicians and support staff. Provide coaching, mentoring and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Project Management: Oversee major projects, including expansions, upgrades and maintenance turnarounds. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards for refinery products. Implement quality control measures and monitor product specifications. Supply Chain Management: Manage the supply chain for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure a steady and efficient production process.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, standards and best practices. Ensure the refinery's compliance with local, national and international regulations.
- Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies to oversee large-scale projects effectively. Technical Knowledge: A deep understanding of refining processes, equipment and safety protocols is crucial. Must be well-versed in refining technologies, environmental regulations and industry best practices. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills are vital. Must be able to lead a large team of professionals, set strategic direction and make critical decisions.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to analyze complex issues, troubleshoot operational problems and implement effective solutions is essential.
- Qualification:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering from local or foreign institute of repute and recognized by HEC and PEC. A master's degree in engineering will be preferred.
