PROJECT ENGINEER REQUIRED
Competition Commission of Pakistan intends to hire the services of an experienced Project Engineer (one position) to monitor the construction of CCP's office Building situated in G-10/4, Mauve Area, Islamabad.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Post Graduate Professional Civil Engineer, duly registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), having a minimum of 15 years of building and construction experience with Govt. /Semi Govt. /Reputable Private or Public organization. Preference will be given to candidates having proven experience of managing and executing mega projects in public sector.
Responsibilities: The Project Engineer as the Employer's Representative under the contract, will have following responsibilities and duties:-
- a. Coordinate with consultants to prepare procurement documents for constructor/contractors under Public Procurement Rules and Regulations.
- b. Estimate cost of work packages of CCP office building.
- c. Oversee the project execution, monitoring and control project costs.
- d. Liaison with the engineer of the project and project consultants, for the design and execution of project works.
- e. Monitor construction works and ensure quality of works as per specifications, norms, civil engineering standards, and drawings. Also ensure adherence to legal, regulatory and compliance frameworks for the construction of the building.
- f. Attend third-party inspections as necessary; examine the contractor's claims for variations/extension, additional compensation, etc., and prepare recommendations for approval from Competent Authority.
- g. Check measurements for works completed and in progress and to verify interim payment certificates for making payment to the consultants/contractors.
- h. Scrutinize and approve the contractor's detailed work program, including contractor's resource planning.
- i. Scrutinize and approve construction methods proposed by the contractor.
- j. Prepare monthly progress and project completion reports.
- k. Maintain detailed records of measurement of the completed works, correspondence, detailed diaries, photographs, daily site records, including other documents concerning relevant events and activities.
- l. Check and certify 'as-built' drawings for the works prepared by the contractors at the end of assignment.
- m. At the completion of the works, prepare a consolidated Project Completion Report as per organization's requirements.
- n. Inspect the works at appropriate intervals during defect liability period and recommend for certification.
- o. Resolve any contractual disputes with contractors/consultants arising during project duration as per PPRA rules.
- p. Training and skill development of engineering staff:
- Assist the employer in hiring technical staff for building works if required
- Any other additional construction-related tasks
- q. To perform any other task assigned by the Competent Authority for the smooth execution of the project.
Age Limit: 45 Years (including 5 years general age relaxation)
Contract Period: Initially for two years and extendable as per requirement, and subject to satisfactory performance
