DIRECTOR GENERAL (LEGAL)
The Competition Commission of Pakistan is seeking services of one (01) highly experienced and dynamic Legal Professional for the post of Director General (Legal), CCP Grade-9. The ideal candidate must possess the following qualification/experience:
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum LLM from a HEC-recognized university or a reputed foreign university, preferably having a Ph.D. in Law and/or Barrister-at-Law. The candidate must have at least 15 Years of professional experience (in case of LLM degree) or 10 years (in case of Ph.D. degree) in dealing with litigation, adjudication, and drafting of legal documents in public or private sector.
The Candidate should also have at least 10 years of high court standing, along with the following professional credentials:
a. Understanding of regulatory regime in Pakistan.
b. Experience of legislative drafting, including rules and regulations.
c. Comprehensive knowledge of competition law, including the Competition Act, 2010, regulations, and related jurisprudence.
d. Commitment to professionalism, discipline, and integrity.
e. Excellent written and oral communication, research, interpretation, and representation skills.
f. Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities will include:
a. Rendering advice on legal and regulatory affairs and performing such tasks as and when assigned by the Commission involving legal issues.
b. Drafting and examination of rules, regulations, and other legal instruments.
c. Providing legal assistance in adjudication process.
d. Representing the Commission at various judicial forums, including the Competition Appellate Tribunal and High Courts.
e. Providing legal opinion on complex corporate issues.
Max AGE LIMIT: 55 years
*A competitive salary package will be offered, commensurate with qualification, experience, and knowledge.
GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS:
i. The appointment will be made on a contract basis, for a period of two (02) years, further extendable subject to satisfactory performance, and/or may be considered for regularization.
ii. The candidate possessing the requisite qualification, experience, and age may apply. Only shortlisted candidates based on qualification and experience will be called for the interview, and no TA/DA will be given to the candidates to appear in the test/interview.
iii. Government employees may apply through proper channel after getting NOC from the parent department.
iv. Applications that are incomplete or received after the due date will not be considered.
v. Selection will be purely on merit. Any attempt to cause undue influence on the selection process will lead to the applicant to be disqualified immediately.
