We are in the middle of a major transformation - building a modern, data-driven, customer-focused water ecosystem. We're changing how a legacy utility works by introducing digital tools, automation, GIS mapping, performance dashboards, customer apps, and real-time system visibility. This includes working on projects that improve environmental resilience, climate adaptation, and urban sustainability.
Water networks are massive, living systems with hundreds of thousands of interconnected parts. Historically, these systems were mapped, but the data was messy, outdated, or incomplete. Add to that burst pipes, leakages, and inefficient infrastructure, and we often lose water faster than we can produce it – forcing supply cuts that impact everyday life.
To fix this, we're deploying cutting-edge science and tech. We're building a mathematical (hydraulic) model of Karachi's water network that mirrors real-world behavior. By measuring flows and pressures in the field and comparing them with simulations, we can identify inefficiencies, find leaks, and correct decades of missing or inaccurate data.
This model becomes the brain of the network – helping us predict failures before they happen, redesign infrastructure, and plan upgrades that support Karachi's future growth. It's a foundation for smarter decision-making, climate-resilient planning, equitable service delivery, and cleaner neighborhoods.

KW&SC invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Hydraulic Modeller. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, caliboating, and applying hydraulic models to support the efficient management and evolution of Karachi's water supply system.
Key Responsibilities:

| Education | BE/BSc degree or greater in Civil or Mechanical engineering preferably with a specialisation in hydraulics. |
| General Experience | Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the water sector (consultancy or utility). |
| Specific Experience | * Good understanding of commonly applied software (GIS, CAD MSOffice, Epanet etc.). * Self-motivated, creative and eager to learn. * Good inter-personal communications skills and possess the ability to motivate others. * Highly proficient in the English language with good report writing ability. * Prepared to travel when necessary |

| Tenure | This is contractual position for a period of 3 years, extendable on satisfactory performance. |
